About Dragon Ball Z Mugen Edition 2
Dragon Ball Z Mugen Edition 2 was the first serious game based on the Dragon Ball franchise developed with Mugen engine. It started a new era for fans of Goku and the company, as games from the world created by Akira Toriyama were suddenly available to everyone and what's more importantly, finally Dragon Ball games - although unofficial - were available to PC players. New fan-made Dragon Ball games using the Mugen engine are created to this day and despite the fact that the best years are already behind them, these games are still very popular especially among younger fans of the franchise.
Dragon Ball Z Mugen Edition 2 includes over 35 characters and many stages known from such games as Dragon Ball Z Super Butōden (all parts), Dragon Ball Z Hyper Dimension, and Dragon Ball Z Buyū Retsuden. The combat system is more dynamic than those known from the above games, and the list of moves of individual characters has been significantly increased. You'll also find here more special attacks and other mechanics that we couldn't experience in games from Nintendo's and Sega's consoles. All popular game modes are here and still work very well. The classic Arcade mode allows you to test your skills with random opponents controlled by computer AI. In Versus mode, you can challenge your friend and check out which of you is a better fighter. If you like team fights, you'll find here a few different modes in which up to 4 characters fight in 2-versus-2 battles. If you're an inexperienced player, start with some practice in Training mode where you can check the moves of all characters.
Unfortunately, the original version of the game is no longer working on newer operating systems. The version you can download here is not exactly the one we could play long ago. It includes all characters and stages that the original had, but the intro was removed and several modifications have been added. However, the overall impression is the same and if you like the classic Mugen games, Dragon Ball Z Mugen Edition 2 will not disappoint you. The game has many continuations created by various authors with titles usually containing the year in which they were created and almost all of them you can find in our Download section.
